I have looked into it. The amount of regulation is nutso.
Most of the finance technologists I know are disillusioned with banks and are looking heavily into Bitcoin.

I don't know anything about Bitcoin or any other e-currency, but what I do know is that banks are starting to FREEZE accounts of those who trade in firearms...I suspect there is a government hand in these decisions. I further believe that an opportunity exist for some bank to specically cater to the gun industry. I have a few other ideas, but will keep them to myself for the moment.

Step 1: move to another country.

Start a Credit Union instead. Takes a pretty good stake but it isn't impossible. Say 13 people with a initial buy in of 100K. What is very important is to get the right law firm.

There are boutique (private) banks out there. My wife runs one. They have some leeway compared to publicly held banks. An example: they did not have to, nor did they participate in the mortgage lending practices that caused the home foreclosure problems. When the dust settled they were standing strong.
