I've been trying for years to successfully pour a proper Black & Tan, or, if you're Irish, a Light & Bitter. I finally found success in the New Year! I wasn't trying too hard, I just thought, "I'll give it another shot," and it just sort of happened.

Happy New Year, Brothers!

I like a black and tan when someone else makes it. I have tried to make one but it is never turns out right, but I know where I can get the good one

I bought my dad a Bru-Tul a few years ago and it works well. Our favorite is a Blacksmith, Guinness and Smithwicks.

I have to find that glass topper! Any chance, you know where it comes from?

I had to look it up. We always used a spoon but this is brilliant!

I need to get myself a spoon. What finally worked for me was to take a saucer, turn it upside down, and pour the Guinness off of the edge of the saucer.

Oh thats pretty. I'm in a bagpipe band and one of the best things about it is a couple of properly poured pints after practice. Black and Tan for me this week.

Nice. My first (and for a coupla years thereafter, only) taste of Black and Tan's was the Guiness and Harp combo, although one of my purists buddies (a fellow Irish-American to boot) insisted that a true B&T had to be the Bass & Guiness combo.
